Set-Up of the Digital Transformation Office as Center of Excellence to Drive Emerging Technology
The client has established a digital strategy and conducted a digital readiness assessment. As an outcome, they figured that there is a challenge to introduce emerging technologies within IT. In order to tackle this issue, Ginkgo Management Consulting supported its client with the set up of a Digital Transformation Office to streamline and centrally foster the technical and cultural initiation of new technology. The organizational model Center of Excellence has been successfully implemented to ensure structure and continuity.
Digital Strategy Workshop for a Smart Factory Concept
The client defined their digital strategy with the specific building block Smart Factories. An overall group strategy for this theme has been in place however a regionalized strategy has been missing. Moreover, the relevant business and IT teams could not agree on one joint message. To tackle those issues, Ginkgo Management Consulting supported its client by preparing, facilitating, and revised a Digital Strategy Workshop and successfully created one joint message on the theme Smart Factory strategy for the region North America.
IT Strategy After Sales China
Ginkgo conceptualized the strategic direction for the After Sales of the future of a German automotive group for the Chinese market, based on a domain model and structured stakeholder interviews with the central intention of identifying issue areas and pain points. The new After Sales IT Strategy for China was an essential point of orientation and alignment for all stakeholders. Benefits for HQ, Business Unit and IT due to derived concrete measures for implementation. In addition, it can be used for continuous development of the After Sales IT strategy, e.g. for annual IT investment decisions – timely and continuously available.
Digital Assessment of Use Cases and White Spots at a leading Commercial Vehicle Corporation
Ginkgo Management Consulting drove a concentrated 6-week strategy project, capturing ongoing digital initiatives and digital white spots while deriving a digital strategy incl. creating a digital governance model for sustainable digitization. Introduction of DTO as a future organizational unit to foster synergies and streamline initiatives contributing to digital strategy operationalization.

The client started in their new role as CIO and determined that a digital readiness assessment is required before changing overall guidance for IT. The outcome indicated that a digital strategy with the set-up of a digital foundation is mandatory to Build the Intelligent Company and enable strategic building blocks as data-driven or electrified and connected vehicles. The client, an international automotive OEM, experienced a lack of a global data strategy. The definition of this big data strategy as well as an assessment of performance and risks to close that gap was the project task. The identification of relevant services, applications, tools, business models, and data governance was also needed for its implementation. In addition, a conception of SLAs for 3rd party service providers, data center relocation, and support of the rollout strategy was done.
